Anne Nicolas has announced the availability of the second and final release candidate for Mandriva Linux 2009.1: "The RC2 release of Mandriva Linux 2009.1 is now available. This RC2 provides some updates on major desktop components of the distribution, including KDE 4.2.2, GNOME 2.26, X.Org Server 1.6 and Linux kernel 2.6.29. This release also provides a nearly complete 2009.1 design. It will allow you to transfer all available 'One' hybrid ISOs to a USB key in a very easy way and install Mandriva Linux on netbooks. Five 'One' ISOs are now available to provide KDE and GNOME desktops in a large number of languages. Major update of the X server has been completed and lots of testing is in progress to help improving support for the ATI, Intel and openChrome video drivers."
